Skip hire in Brenchley

First published 15 October 2026. Last checked 15 October 2026.

Brenchley is in the Kent County Council highway area (not Medway). A skip on the public road needs that council's licence – the hire firm applies, not you. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

About Brenchley

Brenchley is a village in the civil parish of Brenchley and Matfield, in Tunbridge Wells borough, about 8 miles (13 km) east of Royal Tunbridge Wells and 3 miles (4.8 km) south of Paddock Wood. Its name comes from Branca's Leigh.

All Saints Church is Grade I listed, and a market granted in 1230 was once held in its churchyard. The village also took part in post-medieval iron making.

Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or "top skips in Brenchley". Check the carrier's CBDU number, then ask who will apply for the road licence.

Private drive vs road

Local notes

Brenchley is in Tunbridge Wells borough; Kent County Council, not the borough council, licences skips on the road. Brenchley and Matfield share one parish but are separate villages, so give the firm the Brenchley address and postcode. Any part on the highway needs the company to apply at least five working days ahead; a skip wholly on your own drive needs no permit.

Kent County Council recycling-centre guidance covers what household DIY waste each site accepts; rules and any booking or charges change, so check before you travel and keep plasterboard separate when asked. Source: Kent household waste recycling centres.

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm you are in the Kent County Council area (not Medway) and ask them to apply. Recheck the council fees page on the day you book.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. The £45 figure is Kent County Council's published permit fee, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
