Skip hire in Brook

First published 7 October 2026. Last checked 7 October 2026.

Brook is in the Kent County Council highway area (not Medway). A skip on the public road needs that council's licence – the hire firm applies, not you. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

About Brook

Brook is a small village and civil parish in the borough of Ashford, about 4.5 miles east-northeast of Ashford town. It sits in a gently rolling valley just south of the North Downs; the brook that gives it its name rises here and flows east to join the Great Stour.

Its Grade I listed church of St Mary dates from the 11th century, and the Brook Rural Museum is housed in a 14th-century barn and a 19th-century oast house.

Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or "top skips in Brook". Check the carrier's CBDU number, then ask who will apply for the road licence.

Private drive vs road

Local notes

Brook is a small rural parish in a valley just south of the North Downs, east of Ashford. Prefer a private drive. A road skip must carry the owner's name and a 24-hour contact number, be lit at night, and be removed as soon as practicable once it is full (Highways Act section 139(4)).

Kent County Council recycling-centre guidance covers what household DIY waste each site accepts; rules and any booking or charges change, so check before you travel and keep plasterboard separate when asked. Source: Kent household waste recycling centres.

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm you are in the Kent County Council area (not Medway) and ask them to apply. Recheck the council fees page on the day you book.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. The £45 figure is Kent County Council's published permit fee, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
