Skip hire in Kingston (Kent)

First published 11 October 2026. Last checked 11 October 2026.

Kingston (Kent) is in the Kent County Council highway area (not Medway). A skip on the public road needs that council's licence – the hire firm applies, not you. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

About Kingston (Kent)

Kingston is a village and civil parish between Canterbury and Dover, centred about 5 miles south-east of Canterbury; the parish includes the hamlet of Marley. It sits on the edge of the North Downs in rolling countryside within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The 7th-century Kingston Brooch, an Anglo-Saxon gold jewel, was found on Kingston Downs in 1771.

Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or "top skips in Kingston (Kent)". Check the carrier's CBDU number, then ask who will apply for the road licence.

Private drive vs road

Local notes

Kingston is a downland village; Kent County Council licenses skips on the road. Rural lanes can be narrow with few passing places, so prefer a private drive and confirm lorry access. A road skip must carry the owner's name and a 24-hour contact number, be lit at night, and be removed as soon as practicable once it is full (Highways Act section 139(4)).

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm you are in the Kent County Council area (not Medway) and ask them to apply. Recheck the council fees page on the day you book.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. The £45 figure is Kent County Council's published permit fee, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
