Skip hire in Maidstone

First published 7 September 2026. Last checked 7 September 2026.

Maidstone is Kent’s county town on the Medway; Kent County Council issues the highway skip licence here (not Medway Council). A skip on the public road needs a Kent County Council licence – the skip company applies, not you. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or “top skips in Maidstone”. Check the carrier’s CBDU number, then ask who will apply for the road licence.

Local placement note

Maidstone’s denser streets and controlled parking can make road placement slower to approve. Tell the hire firm you are in the Kent County Council highway area and give them at least five working days. Fee on Kent’s table (checked 7 September 2026): £45 per week for 2026 to 2027. Full detail: Skip permit: Kent County Council.

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm you are in the Kent County Council highway area and ask them to apply. Give them at least five working days.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. The £45 figure is Kent County Council’s published permit fee, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
