Skip hire in Milton Keynes

First published 12 September 2026. Last checked 12 September 2026.

Milton Keynes is a HoC Other city – not one of the 1,174 small/medium/large towns. A skip on the public road needs a Milton Keynes City Council highway licence – the skip company usually applies, not you. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or “top skips in Milton Keynes”. Check the carrier’s CBDU number, then ask who will apply for the road licence.

Local notes

Milton Keynes City Council charges £70 for seven days on the highway and £41.50 for each extra seven-day extension on the page we checked. Fee note: £70 for 7 days on highway, rechecked 12 Sep 2026.

The fee note above is from Milton Keynes City Council’s published page (or an honest note when none was printed), not a hire quote.

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm you are in the Milton Keynes City Council highway area and ask them to apply. Give them the notice on the permit page.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk lists rules and council links, not a directory of firms. When we add a booking partner it will be labelled (affiliate) on partners.
