Skip hire in Morpeth

First published 12 September 2026. Last checked 12 September 2026.

Morpeth sits in the Northumberland County Council highway area. A skip on the public road needs that council’s licence – the skip company usually applies, not you. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

Northumberland County Council is the highway authority for this town. Full permit detail: Skip permit: Northumberland County Council. On that page (checked 12 Sep 2026): £27 per skip/container for 14 days. minimum 5 working days. County map: Skip hire in Northumberland.

Local notes

Morpeth estate cul-de-sacs can look open until both sides are parked; ask the firm to check adopted highway before they book the licence. Northumberland County Council is the highway authority for Morpeth. Fee note: £27 per skip/container for 14 days, rechecked 12 Sep 2026.

The fee note above is from Northumberland County Council’s published page (or an honest note when none was printed), not a hire quote.

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm you are in the Northumberland County Council highway area and ask them to apply. Give them the notice on the permit page.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk lists rules and council links, not a directory of firms. When we add a booking partner it will be labelled (affiliate) on partners.
