Skip hire in Queenborough

First published 27 September 2026. Last checked 27 September 2026.

Queenborough is in the Kent County Council highway area (not Medway). A skip on the public road needs that council's licence – the hire firm applies, not you. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

About Queenborough

Queenborough is a port town on the Isle of Sheppey in the Swale borough of Kent. It sits about 2 miles south of Sheerness, near where the Swale meets the Medway and the Thames Estuary.

The harbour still offers moorings between the Thames and Medway; the House of Commons Library file classes the settlement as Village.

Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or "top skips in Queenborough". Check the carrier's CBDU number, then ask who will apply for the road licence.

Private drive vs road

Local notes

Queenborough sits on the west side of the Isle of Sheppey, south of Sheerness by the Swale. Prefer a private drive; harbour-side and High Street streets are tight, and Sheppey Crossing approaches can delay a skip lorry.

Kent County Council recycling-centre guidance covers what household DIY waste each site accepts; rules and any booking or charges change, so check before you travel and keep plasterboard separate when asked. Source: Kent household waste recycling centres.

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm you are in the Kent County Council area (not Medway) and ask them to apply. Recheck the council fees page on the day you book.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. The £45 figure is Kent County Council's published permit fee, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
