Skip hire in Sutton Valence

First published 30 September 2026. Last checked 30 September 2026.

Sutton Valence is in the Kent County Council highway area (not Medway). A skip on the public road needs that council's licence – the hire firm applies, not you. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

About Sutton Valence

Sutton Valence is a village about five miles south-east of Maidstone on the A274 toward Headcorn and Tenterden. It sits on the Greensand Ridge overlooking the Vale of Kent and the Weald.

Landmarks include St Mary's Church on Chart Road and the ruined twelfth-century keep of Sutton Valence Castle, managed by English Heritage.

Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or "top skips in Sutton Valence". Check the carrier's CBDU number, then ask who will apply for the road licence.

Private drive vs road

Local notes

Sutton Valence sits on the Greensand Ridge south-east of Maidstone on the A274. Prefer a private drive; the High Street and Chart Road toward the castle leave little turning room for a large builders' skip.

Kent County Council recycling-centre guidance covers what household DIY waste each site accepts; rules and any booking or charges change, so check before you travel and keep plasterboard separate when asked. Source: Kent household waste recycling centres.

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm you are in the Kent County Council area (not Medway) and ask them to apply. Recheck the council fees page on the day you book.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. The £45 figure is Kent County Council's published permit fee, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
