Skip hire in Teesside
People search “Teesside” or “Cleveland” for the same cluster of Tees Valley unitaries. Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees, Redcar and Cleveland, and Hartlepool each issue their own highway skip licence. There is no single Cleveland County permit any more.
This is a hub, not a list of firms. Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or “top skips in Teesside”. Check the carrier’s CBDU number, then ask who will apply for the road licence.
Four Tees unitaries
Darlington is also in the Tees Valley Combined Authority but sits outside historic Cleveland; use its own permit page if that is your council. Private drive: usually no licence. Road: the unitary below. National rule: Do I need a skip permit?.

How to hire without a fake directory
- Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
- Name the highway authority for your road and ask the firm to apply. Same-day drops are much more realistic on a driveway.
- Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
- Keep asbestos, plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator has a written specialist route – what you cannot put in a skip and asbestos and skips.
Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link. Until then, use a licensed local operator and the council pages above.
