Skip hire in Teynham

First published 28 September 2026. Last checked 28 September 2026.

Teynham is in the Kent County Council highway area (not Medway). A skip on the public road needs that council's licence – the hire firm applies, not you. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

About Teynham

Teynham is a small village and civil parish in the Swale borough of Kent, between Sittingbourne and Faversham just north of the A2. The parish takes in the hamlet of Conyer on an inlet of the Swale, plus Deerton Street, Frognal and Teynham Street.

A railway station serves Southeastern trains between London Victoria and Dover.

Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or "top skips in Teynham". Check the carrier's CBDU number, then ask who will apply for the road licence.

Which authority

Kent County Council is the highway authority (not Medway). Full permit detail: Skip permit: Kent County Council. On that page (fees rechecked 28 September 2026 on Kent's live highways fees table): £45 per week for 2026 to 2027 (£43 for 2025 to 2026), seven calendar days; at least five working days' notice; company applies; £5m public liability; max skip size 5 m × 2 m in the terms; failure to licence £120. Private drive vs road

Local notes

Teynham sits between Sittingbourne and Faversham just north of the A2, with Conyer on the Swale inlet. Prefer a private drive; A2 frontage and lanes toward Conyer and Teynham Street leave little room for a long roadside stay.

Kent County Council recycling-centre guidance covers what household DIY waste each site accepts; rules and any booking or charges change, so check before you travel and keep plasterboard separate when asked. Source: Kent household waste recycling centres.

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm you are in the Kent County Council area (not Medway) and ask them to apply. Recheck the council fees page on the day you book.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. The £45 figure is Kent County Council's published permit fee, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
