Skip hire in Trottiscliffe

First published 7 October 2026. Last checked 7 October 2026.

Trottiscliffe is in the Kent County Council highway area (not Medway). A skip on the public road needs that council's licence – the hire firm applies, not you. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

About Trottiscliffe

Trottiscliffe, pronounced 'trottis-cliff', is a village about 2.5 miles north-west of West Malling. Villagers often call it Trosley, the name used for Trosley Country Park at the top of the North Downs.

Its best-known features are the Neolithic Coldrum Long Barrow and the medieval church of St Peter and St Paul.

Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or "top skips in Trottiscliffe". Check the carrier's CBDU number, then ask who will apply for the road licence.

Private drive vs road

Local notes

Trottiscliffe lies below the North Downs, north-west of West Malling. Prefer a private drive. Kent wants a road licence applied for at least 5 working days before the skip arrives, so book early if it cannot go on your drive.

Kent County Council recycling-centre guidance covers what household DIY waste each site accepts; rules and any booking or charges change, so check before you travel and keep plasterboard separate when asked. Source: Kent household waste recycling centres.

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm you are in the Kent County Council area (not Medway) and ask them to apply. Recheck the council fees page on the day you book.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. The £45 figure is Kent County Council's published permit fee, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
