Skip hire in Wateringbury

First published 29 September 2026. Last checked 29 September 2026.

Wateringbury is in the Kent County Council highway area (not Medway). A skip on the public road needs that council's licence – the hire firm applies, not you. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

About Wateringbury

Wateringbury is a village and civil parish near Maidstone in Kent. The Wateringbury Stream meets the River Medway just above Bow Bridge and once powered three watermills, one of which survives.

The station is on the Medway Valley Line.

Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or "top skips in Wateringbury". Check the carrier's CBDU number, then ask who will apply for the road licence.

Private drive vs road

Local notes

Wateringbury sits on the Medway near Bow Bridge, with a station on the Medway Valley Line. Prefer a private drive; Tonbridge Road and the stream-side streets leave little passing room for a long skip lorry.

Kent County Council recycling-centre guidance covers what household DIY waste each site accepts; rules and any booking or charges change, so check before you travel and keep plasterboard separate when asked. Source: Kent household waste recycling centres.

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm you are in the Kent County Council area (not Medway) and ask them to apply. Recheck the council fees page on the day you book.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. The £45 figure is Kent County Council's published permit fee, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
