Skip hire in Wetherby

First published 12 September 2026. Last checked 12 September 2026.

Wetherby sits in the Leeds City Council highway area. A skip on the public road needs that council’s licence – the skip company usually applies, not you. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

Leeds City Council is the highway authority for this town. Full permit detail: Skip permit: Leeds City Council. On that page (checked 12 Sep 2026): fee not printed on council page. registered skip company applies (raswa.forms@leeds.gov.uk to register).

Local notes

Wetherby neighbourhood loops and through-roads share space with parked cars; a driveway drop is simpler when you have one. Leeds City Council is the highway authority for Wetherby. Fee note: fee not printed on council page, rechecked 12 Sep 2026.

The fee note above is from Leeds City Council’s published page (or an honest note when none was printed), not a hire quote.

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm you are in the Leeds City Council highway area and ask them to apply. Give them the notice on the permit page.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk lists rules and council links, not a directory of firms. When we add a booking partner it will be labelled (affiliate) on partners.
