Skip permit: Lancashire County Council
If the skip sits on a public road in the Lancashire County Council area, you need a highway skip licence. On the council page checked 12 Sep 2026: £42 per application max 28 days (2026/27 fees schedule). skip company applies. A skip wholly on private land you control does not need this licence.
You usually do not apply as a householder. Tell the hire firm at booking and give them the notice the council asks for. Do not put the skip on the pavement unless the licence allows it.
When you need one
