Skip hire in Berkshire
Ceremonial Berkshire has no county council. Six unitaries each licence skips on their own roads: Reading, Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead, West Berkshire, Wokingham and Bracknell Forest. Name the unitary for your street, not “Berkshire County”.
This is a hub, not a list of firms. Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or “top skips in Berkshire”. Check the carrier’s CBDU number, then ask who will apply for the road licence.
Six unitaries, no county highways team
Fees and who may apply differ by borough. Several councils only accept registered skip companies. Private drive you control: usually no highway licence. Public road: yes. National rule: Do I need a skip permit?.

How to hire without a fake directory
- Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
- Name the highway authority for your road and ask the firm to apply. Same-day drops are much more realistic on a driveway.
- Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
- Keep asbestos, plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator has a written specialist route – what you cannot put in a skip and asbestos and skips.
Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link. Until then, use a licensed local operator and the council pages above.
