Skip hire in Brent

Brent is a HoC Core city (London) – not one of the 1,174 small/medium/large towns. A skip on the public road needs the London Borough of Brent highway process – the skip company usually applies, not you. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. Private drive vs road

Wholly on a driveway or other private land you control: no London Borough of Brent highway skip licence.
Any part on the public road or adopted highway: yes (unless the City of London no-standing-skip rule applies – see the permit page).
TfL red routes: usually TfL, not the borough – confirm which authority owns the road.

Local notes

Brent charges £72.80 per fortnight once the skip company is registered (£365.50 registration on the page we checked).
Brent will not licence a skip on the footpath or a pedestrianised area – prefer carriageway or a private drive.

How to hire without a fake directory

Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm you are in the London Borough of Brent highway area and ask them to apply. Give them the notice on the permit page.
Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.
