Skip hire in Camden

Camden is a HoC Core city (London) – not one of the 1,174 small/medium/large towns. A skip on the public road needs the London Borough of Camden highway process – the skip company usually applies, not you. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. Private drive vs road

Wholly on a driveway or other private land you control: no London Borough of Camden highway skip licence.
Any part on the public road or adopted highway: yes (unless the City of London no-standing-skip rule applies – see the permit page).
TfL red routes: usually TfL, not the borough – confirm which authority owns the road.

Camden’s 2026/27 skip licence table lists £71.50 for two weeks and £103.68 for four weeks before parking-suspension extras.
Only a skip company can apply; allow at least five working days and do not put the skip on the pavement.

How to hire without a fake directory

Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm you are in the London Borough of Camden highway area and ask them to apply. Give them the notice on the permit page.
Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.
