Skip hire in Doddinghurst

First published 13 October 2026. Last checked 13 October 2026.

Doddinghurst is in the Essex County Council highway area (not Southend-on-Sea or Thurrock). A skip on the public road needs that council's licence – a licensed skip contractor applies, not you. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

About Doddinghurst

Doddinghurst is a village and civil parish in the Borough of Brentwood, about 3 miles north of Brentwood. Its built-up area extends beyond the parish boundary to take in Hook End and Wyatts Green.

The village is based around two main roads, Doddinghurst Road from Brentwood and Church Lane, and All Saints Church on Church Lane has a 13th-century nave.

Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or "top skips in Doddinghurst". Check the carrier's CBDU number, then ask who will apply for the road licence.

Private drive vs road

Local notes

Doddinghurst is in Brentwood borough; Essex County Council licences skips on the road. Doddinghurst Road and Church Lane are the main routes, and Church Lane carries on through Hook End and Wyatts Green towards Kelvedon Hatch; say which part of the built-up area you are in when you book. A skip wholly on your own drive needs no Essex licence; any part on the highway needs a licensed skip contractor to apply.

Essex County Council recycling centres (Love Essex) are for household waste; some sites accept limited DIY waste if you did the work yourself. Rules, booking and DIY limits change, so check before you travel and keep plasterboard and soil within the published limits. Source: Love Essex: DIY waste and find a recycling centre.

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm you are in the Essex County Council area (not Southend-on-Sea or Thurrock) and ask them to apply. Recheck the council fees page on the day you book.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. The £111.66 figure is Essex County Council's published permit fee, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
