Skip hire in Kesgrave

First published 12 September 2026. Last checked 12 September 2026.

Kesgrave sits in the Suffolk County Council highway area. A skip on the public road needs that council’s licence – the skip company usually applies, not you. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

Suffolk County Council is the highway authority for this town. Full permit detail: Skip permit: Suffolk County Council. On that page (checked 12 Sep 2026): £95 first two weeks. 3 working days. County map: Skip hire in Suffolk.

Private drive vs road

Local notes

Kesgrave High Street parking and older terraces often favour a private-drive drop if you have one. Suffolk County Council is the highway authority for Kesgrave (not East Suffolk as highway authority). Fee note: £95 first two weeks, rechecked 12 Sep 2026.

The fee note above is from Suffolk County Council’s published page (or an honest note when none was printed), not a hire quote.

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm you are in the Suffolk County Council highway area and ask them to apply. Give them the notice on the permit page.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk lists rules and council links, not a directory of firms. When we add a booking partner it will be labelled (affiliate) on partners.
