Skip hire in Neath

First published 11 September 2026. Last checked 11 September 2026.

Neath sits under Neath Port Talbot Council for highway skip permits. A skip on the public road needs that permit – the operator applies and should wait for approval. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or “top skips in Neath”. Check the carrier’s CBDU number, then ask who will apply for the road licence.

Which authority

Neath Port Talbot Council is the highway authority. Full permit detail: Skip permit: Neath Port Talbot Council. On that page (checked 11 September 2026): £59 for 28 days; applications typically processed in three to five working days. Nation map: Skip hire in Wales.

Local placement note

Streetworks for NPT sit at The Quays, Briton Ferry – useful if the hire firm needs the contact. Town-centre and riverside streets can be tight; allow the full processing window before delivery day rather than assuming same-week approval.

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm which principal council applies and ask them to apply. Use the notice period on the permit page.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. The £59 / 28 days figure is the council’s published permit fee, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
