Skip hire in Ammanford

First published 11 September 2026. Last checked 11 September 2026.

Ammanford sits in the Amman valley under Carmarthenshire County Council. A skip on the public highway needs Carmarthenshire’s skip licence – the operator applies. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or “top skips in Ammanford”. Check the carrier’s CBDU number, then ask who will apply for the road licence.

Which authority

Carmarthenshire County Council is the highway authority. Full permit detail: Skip permit: Carmarthenshire Council. On that page (checked 11 September 2026): £75 per month or part (to 31 Mar 2027), five working days, operator applies with £10m PL. Nation map: Skip hire in Wales.

Private drive vs road

Local placement note

Town-centre one-ways and valley terraces can limit larger builders’ skips. Prefer a private-drive drop if you have one; if it must sit on the road, give the firm Carmarthenshire’s five working days and budget £75 for the month or part-month.

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm which principal council applies and ask them to apply. Use the notice period on the permit page.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. The £75 / month or part figure is the council’s published permit fee, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
