Skip hire in Bargod
Bargod (Bargoed) sits in Caerphilly County Borough on the Rhymney valley. A skip on the public highway needs Caerphilly’s skip permit – the operator applies. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.
Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or “top skips in Bargod”. Check the carrier’s CBDU number, then ask who will apply for the road licence.
Which authority
Caerphilly County Borough Council is the highway authority. Full permit detail: Skip permit: Caerphilly Council. On that page (checked 11 September 2026): £28.39, at least two working days, operator applies. Nation map: Skip hire in Wales.
Private drive vs road
- Wholly on a driveway or other private land you control: no highway skip licence.
- Any part on the public road or adopted highway: yes. The skip company applies.
- National rule: Do I need a skip permit?.
Local placement note
High Street and the terraces down to the river are tight for larger skips. Prefer private hardstanding; Caerphilly’s published fee is £28.39 with at least two working days’ notice.
How to hire without a fake directory
- Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
- If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm which principal council applies and ask them to apply. Use the notice period on the permit page.
- Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
- Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.
Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. The £28.39 figure is the council’s published permit fee, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
