Skip hire in Bridgend

First published 11 September 2026. Last checked 11 September 2026.

Bridgend County Borough Council licences skips on footways, verges and carriageways. A skip on the public highway needs that licence – a legitimate contractor applies. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or “top skips in Bridgend”. Check the carrier’s CBDU number, then ask who will apply for the road licence.

Local placement note

Town-centre and estate streets around Bridgend often need cones and lamps with a road skip – the council form expects 6 lamps and 3 cones. Ask Business Support (01656 642533) via the hire firm if the drop is tight or near a junction.

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm which principal council applies and ask them to apply. Use the notice period on the permit page.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. The £42.61 on application figure is the council’s published permit fee, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
