Skip hire in Chiswick

First published 7 September 2026. Last checked 7 September 2026.

Most of Chiswick sits in the London Borough of Hounslow. A skip on the public road needs a Hounslow Highways skip permit – a registered hire firm applies, not you. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or “top skips in Chiswick”. Check the carrier’s CBDU number, then ask who will apply for the road permit.

Which authority

The London Borough of Hounslow is the highway authority for most of Chiswick. Full permit detail: Skip permit: London Borough of Hounslow. On Hounslow Highways (checked 7 September 2026): £122.21 for 14 days, registered skip companies only, issuing can take up to 72 hours, and a CPZ bay needs a parking suspension (up to ten working days) before the skip permit can issue. If the bay is on a TfL red route, that is a separate TfL licence – see the permit page.

DIY waste at Space Waye (Hounslow)

Hounslow’s Space Waye Reuse and Recycling Centre (Feltham) allows residents up to two 50-litre sacks (or equivalent) of DIY waste free per visit, with a maximum of one visit a week. Anything over that is charged at £205 per tonne, with a £41 minimum for up to 200kg. DIY material on that page includes rubble, plasterboard, soil from landscaping works and fitted kitchens. How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm you are in the London Borough of Hounslow and ask them to apply. Ask about CPZ bay suspension timing if the bay is controlled.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. The £122.21 figure is Hounslow Highways’ published permit fee, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
