Skip hire in Holyhead

First published 11 September 2026. Last checked 11 September 2026.

Holyhead sits on the Isle of Anglesey. A skip on the public highway needs an Isle of Anglesey skip permit arranged through a skip company already registered with the council. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or “top skips in Holyhead”. Check the carrier’s CBDU number, then ask who will apply for the road licence.

Which authority

Isle of Anglesey County Council is the highway authority. Full permit detail: Skip permit: Isle of Anglesey Council. On that page (checked 11 September 2026): £31.00 for 7 days or £62.00 for 1 month from Fees and Charges 2026/27; registered skip company applies. Nation map: Skip hire in Wales.

Private drive vs road

Local placement note

Port-town streets toward the ferry terminal and harbour can be busy with HGVs. Ask whether the firm is already registered with Isle of Anglesey County Council (£440 registration on the same schedule if not) and whether the pitch is traffic-sensitive (£70 / 7 days).

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm which principal council applies and ask them to apply. Use the notice period on the permit page.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. The £31 / 7 days figure is the council’s published permit fee, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
