Skip hire in Llanelli

First published 11 September 2026. Last checked 11 September 2026.

Llanelli sits in Carmarthenshire. The county council issues highway skip licences only to registered skip operators with the right insurance – not to customers. A skip on the public road needs that licence. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or “top skips in Llanelli”. Check the carrier’s CBDU number, then ask who will apply for the road licence.

Which authority

Carmarthenshire County Council is the highway authority. Full permit detail: Skip permit: Carmarthenshire Council. On that page (checked 11 September 2026): £75 per month or part thereof (fee valid until 31 March 2027), five working days’ notice, £10 million public liability, operator applies. Nation map: Skip hire in Wales.

Private drive vs road

Local placement note

Coastal and town-centre streets toward the Millennium Coastal Path can be busy with seasonal traffic – book the road licence early (five working days). If the licence lapses, Carmarthenshire’s published out-of-date renewal is £214 per month or part – keep the hire firm’s dates honest.

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm which principal council applies and ask them to apply. Use the notice period on the permit page.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. The £75 / month figure is the council’s published permit fee, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
