Skip hire in Merthyr Tydfil

Merthyr Tydfil is a House of Commons medium town and its own county borough. A skip on the public highway needs Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council’s builders’ skip permit – only the skip company can apply. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. Private drive vs road

• Wholly on a driveway or other private land you control: no highway skip licence.

Local placement note

Valley streets and terraced rows around the town centre can be tight for larger skips. Prefer a private hardstanding drop if you have one; if it must sit on the road, give the firm Merthyr’s full two working days and budget another £44 if you need a second fortnight.

How to hire without a fake directory

1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm which principal council applies and ask them to apply. Use the notice period on the permit page.
