Skip hire in Peterhead

First published 11 September 2026. Last checked 11 September 2026.

Peterhead sits in Aberdeenshire. Aberdeenshire Council is the roads authority. A skip on the public road needs a Section 85 builders’ skip permit – £39.87 for up to seven days on the Road Services charges page from 1 April 2026 (checked 11 September 2026). A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or “top skips in Peterhead”. Check the carrier on SEPA, then ask who will apply for the road permit.

Which authority

Aberdeenshire Council is the roads authority. Full permit detail: Skip permit: Aberdeenshire Council – £39.87 up to 7 days. Country map: Skip hire in Scotland. Do not use Aberdeen City’s permit page for a Peterhead street.

Private drive vs road

Harbour and town-centre streets

Harbour-side and town-centre streets can be tight for larger builders’ skips. Prefer private hardstanding where you have it, and give the hire firm time to lodge the Section 85 form and settle the invoice.

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, name the roads authority and ask the firm to apply. Scotland is not Highways Act 1980.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it on SEPA – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. The £39.87 figure is the council’s published permit fee, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
