Skip hire in Risca

First published 11 September 2026. Last checked 11 September 2026.

Risca sits in Caerphilly County Borough along the Ebbw valley. A skip on the public road needs Caerphilly Council’s skip licence – the operator applies. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or “top skips in Risca”. Check the carrier’s CBDU number, then ask who will apply for the road licence.

Which authority

Caerphilly Council is the highway authority. Full permit detail: Skip permit: Caerphilly Council. On that page (checked 11 September 2026): £28.39, at least two working days’ notice, operator applies. Nation map: Skip hire in Wales.

Private drive vs road

Local placement note

Risca’s valley terraces and the commercial stretch toward Crosskeys leave little room for large lorries on side streets. Size the job honestly and book the road licence early if the skip cannot sit wholly on private hardstanding.

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm which principal council applies and ask them to apply. Use the notice period on the permit page.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. The £28.39 figure is the council’s published permit fee, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
