Skip hire in Sarn, Tondu and Bryncethin

First published 11 September 2026. Last checked 11 September 2026.

Sarn, Tondu and Bryncethin sit north of Bridgend town in Bridgend County Borough. A skip on the public highway needs Bridgend’s skip licence. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or “top skips in Sarn, Tondu and Bryncethin”. Check the carrier’s CBDU number, then ask who will apply for the road licence.

Which authority

Bridgend County Borough Council is the highway authority. Full permit detail: Skip permit: Bridgend Council. On that page (checked 11 September 2026): £42.61 on application (council form), contractor applies with £5m PL; notice not printed as a fixed working-day count on the landing page. Private drive vs road

Local placement note

The A4061 corridor and estate cul-de-sacs around Sarn leave tight turning for skip lorries. Prefer private hardstanding; road placements go through Bridgend’s £42.61 application with £5m PL.

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm which principal council applies and ask them to apply. Use the notice period on the permit page.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. The £42.61 on application figure is the council’s published permit fee, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
