Skip hire in Wrexham

First published 11 September 2026. Last checked 11 September 2026.

Wrexham’s city-centre pedestrian zone uses bollards on Yorke Street – skip access is controlled. Wrexham County Borough Council issues the Section 139 skip permit. A skip on the adopted highway needs that permit. A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or “top skips in Wrexham”. Check the carrier’s CBDU number, then ask who will apply for the road licence.

Which authority

Wrexham County Borough Council is the highway authority. Full permit detail: Skip permit: Wrexham Council. On that page (checked 11 September 2026): £65 for up to seven days, £58 each extra week, at least seven working days’ notice. Nation map: Skip hire in Wales.

Local placement note

Inside the city-centre zone, skips may only be erected or removed on a Sunday, or between 6.30pm and 10.30pm Monday to Thursday, once the application is approved and vehicle registrations are on the bollard ANPR list. Outside the centre, still give the firm at least seven working days for a road permit.

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, tell the firm which principal council applies and ask them to apply. Use the notice period on the permit page.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. The £65 / up to 7 days figure is the council’s published permit fee, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
