Skip hire in Buckie

First published 11 September 2026. Last checked 11 September 2026.

Buckie sits under Moray Council. Moray Council is the roads authority. A skip on the public road needs a Section 85 builders’ skip permit (fee listed on the council fees page, but a printed pound figure was not readable when we checked on 11 September 2026). A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. Buckie sits on the Moray coast under Moray Council. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or “top skips in Buckie”. Check the carrier on SEPA, then ask who will apply for the road permit.

Which authority

Moray Council is the roads authority. Full permit detail: Skip permit: Moray Council – hire company only; ≥5 working days. Country map: Skip hire in Scotland. Nearby: Elgin.

Private drive vs road

Harbour and Cluny Square approaches

Harbour streets and Cluny Square approaches can be tight. Prefer private hardstanding; book through a hire firm that will apply to roadspermits@moray.gov.uk with at least five working days – Moray’s public page does not print a pound fee.

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, name the roads authority and ask the firm to apply. Scotland is not Highways Act 1980.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it on SEPA – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. No Moray permit fee is quoted here because a printed pound figure was not on the public page we checked, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
