Skip hire in Cradlehall
Cradlehall sits under Highland Council. Highland Council is the roads authority. A skip on the public road needs a Section 85 builders’ skip permit – £122 first week; £61 extra (checked 11 September 2026). A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. Cradlehall sits on the eastern edge of Inverness under Highland Council. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.
Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or “top skips in Cradlehall”. Check the carrier on SEPA, then ask who will apply for the road permit.
Which authority
Highland Council is the roads authority. Full permit detail: Skip permit: Highland Council – £122 first week; £61 extra. Country map: Skip hire in Scotland. Nearby: Inverness.
Private drive vs road
- Wholly on a driveway or other private land you control: no roads-authority permit.
- Any part on the public road or footway: yes. Ask the hire firm to apply under the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984.
- National rule: Do I need a skip permit?.
Culloden Road and new-build estates
New-build estates off Culloden Road can still need a roadside skip. Prefer private hardstanding; Highland charges £122 for the first week and £61 each extra week with at least seven days’ notice.
How to hire without a fake directory
- Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
- If it has to sit on the road, name the roads authority and ask the firm to apply. Scotland is not Highways Act 1980.
- Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it on SEPA – how to check a waste carrier licence.
- Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.
Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. The £122 / £61 figures are the council’s published weekly permit charges, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
