Skip hire in Falkirk

First published 11 September 2026. Last checked 11 September 2026.

Falkirk sits under Falkirk Council as roads authority. A skip on the public road needs a builders’ skip permit – £50.10 per week or part thereof with at least seven days’ notice on the council’s skip permits page (checked 11 September 2026). A skip wholly on a private drive you control does not. This page is placement and waste rules, not a list of firms.

Skip Clerk does not invent provider rankings, phone numbers or “top skips in Falkirk”. Check the carrier on SEPA, then ask who will apply for the road permit.

Which authority

Falkirk Council is the roads authority. Full permit detail: Skip permit: Falkirk Council – £50.10/week; ≥7 days. Country map: Skip hire in Scotland. Nearby: Stirling, Livingston.

Private drive vs road

Town centre and canal approaches

Town-centre and canal-side streets can be tight for larger builders’ skips. Email applications go to roads.permits@falkirk.gov.uk with a location plan – give the hire firm the full seven-day lead.

How to hire without a fake directory

  1. Decide the size from the job – What size skip do I need?.
  2. If it has to sit on the road, name the roads authority and ask the firm to apply. Scotland is not Highways Act 1980.
  3. Ask for the waste-carrier number and check it on SEPA – how to check a waste carrier licence.
  4. Keep plasterboard, electricals and sofas out of a mixed skip unless the operator says otherwise – what you cannot put in a skip.

Skip Clerk has no hire partners yet and no prices for skip hire on this page. The £50.10 / week figure is the council’s published permit fee, not a hire quote. When we add a booking link it will be marked as an affiliate link.
