Paisley sits in Renfrewshire. Renfrewshire Council is the roads authority. A skip on the public road needs Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 permission – not Highways Act 1980. The council lists a “permit to place a skip on a road” on its fees page; on 11 September 2026 we could not read a printed pound figure from that page’s public HTML, so we do not invent one.
